desperado Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Hi UVM Accellera Team, As per the road map which you had given in the UVM world site, the UVM 1.0 Package would be release by October 30, 2010, but there are "no signs" of release or talks regarding the same. Basically you are "OUT of TIME TO MARKET". Can you let us out when would the package will be released, any specific/tentative date when we could see the UVM 1.0 released. Thanks, Desperado --> "Keen to have a look on UVM 1.0" Quote
SeanChou Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 delay to 12/27, please also refer to another post. http://www.uvmworld.org/forums/showthread.php?24-schedule-Does-anyone-know-when-would-UVM-1.0-offcial-be-available Quote
desperado Posted December 26, 2010 Author Report Posted December 26, 2010 Hi All, Thanks for pinging this thread because I get that question a lot. The TSC is working hard to get the UVM 1.0 released this year. We do have a target of December 22 for a final completion, but we tend to like to release on a Monday so the library may well appear on the Accellera site on December 27. We also now have a program manager assigned to help the whole team work toward that deadline. Both Cadence and Mentor have been blogging on UVM 1.0 and each have some interesting information about the technical content. Since that work is still in-flight, I won't comment further but suggest you keep checking back here on UVM World for further details. =Adam Sherer So as per the above note from "Adam Sherer" we can expect the UVM 1.0 release on the Accellera site by tomorrow i.e. Dec 27th 2010. I wish they release this time on time. Waiting for your release Accellera, wish there wont be any disappointments. Thanks, Desperado -> "Eyes Wide Open to look into UVM 1.0 dam eagerly" Quote
desperado Posted December 27, 2010 Author Report Posted December 27, 2010 Hi Accellera, Mentor, Synopsys, Cadence !! Was waiting with eye poped on 27th dec 2010, so called the release date for the UVM 1.0 as mentioned in the thread, but still things are not out. Can any officials comment on the same as we are waiting eagerly to see it. Thanks, Desperado --> ":o Eyes still wide open to see UVM 1.0 " Quote
SeanChou Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Desperado, I have been told it is defered to Feb 16, also FYI. Quote
uwes Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 if i remember right, the standards document is currently under review by the accellera member companies (btw the standard IS the documentation, the library is a reference implementation). this review has a 30days period which sort of makes the next decision point 2nd half of jan2011. from there on there are a couple of steps to release it which makes the mentioned feb16 a reasonable date. if you are keen to start and use it simply get a copy from the sourceforge revision control. however keep in mind that there might be minor changes to api's and some new functionality still needs to be verified. on the upside you know the standard before it is a standard. /uwe Quote

Wish as per the above reply, can we expect that UVM1.0 would be release by 16th Feb of 2011 ?? . Any officials from Accellera or Mentor or Synopys or Cadence Can you say, would it be released on the above mentioned date ?? And one request its better to edit the roadmap of uvm1.0 as its been put up on the site, because its way too different & its out of time to market, and so does its mis-leading people around looking for this release. Thanks, Desperado --> Eyes kept still wide open to have a look into the UVM1.0 Quote
uwes Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 hi, if you want to get started you can do so TODAY. what you get are the 99% developer sources (there might be some smaller implementation changes/bugfixes/tests pending). the current pdf's (user guide+ref manual) have not been added to the repo because they are being reviewed currently but you can generate the full API reference directly from the sources if needed. so feel free to get version "0.99" either via git clone git://uvm.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/uvm/uvm or by using this link http://uvm.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=uvm/uvm;a=snapshot;h=master;sf=tgz regards /uwe Quote
desperado Posted February 14, 2011 Author Report Posted February 14, 2011 Hi Uwes, Thanks for what you had put up, but my doubt was when would the actual relase of UVM1.0 will happen, as it has been postponed for quite a long time. Thanks & Regards, Desperado -> Thanks to all for your polite replies :-) Quote
SeanChou Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Desperado, Just in case that you do not know: http://sourceforge.net/projects/uvm/files/UVM_1_0/uvm-1.0.tar.gz/download Quote
uwes Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 hi, when downloading that tarball keep in mind that this is not the FINAL approved UVM_1.0 tar ball. while it has all source code the documentation needs to be updated (i think it still has the 10EA docs). Quote
krupan Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Is sourceforge where the official UVM release comes from? Because when I click Download on the main www.uvmworld.org site, it takes me to an acellera website that only has documentation available for download. I see no mention of this sourceforge project. uwes Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 hi, the project code itself is maintained as project on sourceforge for collaboration. looking at http://www.accellera.org/home you'll see that the standard itself got approved (http://www.accellera.org/activities/vip/UVM_Class_Reference_Manual_1.0.pdf). The release of the final tarball will happen in the next few days and users can download then from accellera.org, uvmworld.org or sourceforge.net. /uwe Quote
