How to leverage the multi-core CPU for systemc simulation

Hi all,

      I am newbie to SystemC,  since I use a multi-core CPU machine, I want to know how to leverage the multi-core CPU to acceralate the simulation. I searched on the Internet, the SystemC seems not support multi-thread.  If so, does it mean the multi-core CPU or even a  powerful server is useless for SystemC simulation?  And Could you please refer me some reference on using multi-thread CPU for SystemC simulation?  Thanks in advance.
